Mr. Damir Krešić, Director of the Croatian Institute for Tourism

Dr. Damir Krešić is Managing Director of the Institute for Tourism, Croatia’s leading public scientific institute dedicated to tourism research and consultancy. With over 20 years of experience in destination management, strategic planning and sustainable tourism development, he has led a number of national, regional and local tourism projects, building strong expertise in the dynamics of tourism sector and collaboration between public and private stakeholders. He holds a Ph.D. in Tourism and a degree in Finance from the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Zagreb. Dr. Krešić has published extensively in academic and professional journals and contributed significantly to tourism policy-making as a member of different tourism working groups and as a former member of the President’s Economic Affair Council. He is currently a member of the Scientific Council for Tourism and Space at the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts.
